cloudy with a chance of board games

While millions reach for the latest edition of Halo, I'll be kicking it old school. Friends, bowl of junk food, libations, thrash talk, and BOARD GAMES make for a pretty perfect winter night. While I miss my neighborhood wine shop (which is no longer in my neighborhood), Cloud Cap, with its cozy well stocked arsenal of boxed card and dice awesomeness, is a more than acceptable replacement (Thankfully not another bank, salon, or antique store).

Having been raised on a steady diet of Cribbage, Chess, Big Boggle, Monopoly, UpWords, Scrabble, Clue, Mouse Trap, Risk, Sorry, and Stratego gaming is in my nature. But while the classics are still classic, over the past ten years we've come to love Settlers, LOTR Risk, Stone Age, Ticket to Ride, Acquire, Blokus, and Set. That sounds like a lot, but like the wine, cheese, tea, and coffee worlds, the realm of board games has a lot of breadth and depth.

Where tasting nights at Vino often expanded my wine palette , Cloud Cap's planned game nights should do the same for my gaming. I'm looking forward to trying out Dominion, Agricola, Puerto Rico, Ticket to Ride Europe, and Dixit, as well as anything else the friendly decide to highlight.
